This Box is Bugged
There are so many different kinds of "signs and symbols." I have dozens of other photos of things I've seen that I have yet to write about. Sometimes it's something huge and obvious, other times it's just some tiny detail I spot that seems out of whack.
Here is a boring old electrical box in the parking lot next to where I work. Wow. Exciting.
Except that I caught a buzzing sound, and something bounced off my arm. Bees.
A colony of bees had turned this box into a super secure hive. I'm sure
the workers who maintain these things see this all the time. I just
found it fascinating. They found a way inside at one of the seams, and
made it their own.
Buzzing toward the hive ...
Now, my Mom would always tell me I am allergic to bees. Supposedly, when I was about 8 years old, we were visiting Uncle Bob in upstate New York, and I got stung. I don't remember anything about it. And I have managed to go 50 years without getting stung again. I'm not afraid of bees. I get along with all animals, mostly by remaining calm. So there I was in the parking lot with bees all around me. That's about as close as I have come to being out in nature in the last few years.
That's sad, but I felt it was noteworthy.
